Total Faith Missionary Church of God started with a vision from founder and pastor, Minister Lowinston Jackson. It was established on March 3, 2002. The first service was in Meriwether County , at the old Elementary School.
Starting out with one member on roll, the doors of the church were opened and 13 people joined that Sunday. Everything was either rented or borrowed at his time, but we pushed forward and made room before our church home for three years. It wasn't very long before others joined Pastor Jackson's vision and mission.
Pastor Jackson's vision is to lead many souls to Christ. His mission is to reintroduce family values and morals, to preach and teach God's word in season and out of season, and to be a witness as well as an example by his actions.
Pastor Jackson set aside nine officers to become Deacons. The nine officers were Ben Dix, Bennie Fuller, Ricky Griffin, Eric Jackson, Carlos Matthews, Donald Rhodes, Bennie Sewell, Kearta Sewell, and Bernard Williams. They were ordained on October 17, 2004.
As the church membership grew we began to have meetings, added new agenda, committees, auxiliaries , choir members, ushers and secretaries. We were able to purchase chairs, hymnals, and other small items to go into the church. It wasn't long before we began to discuss building a new church. We knew it was in the foreseeable future, so we started looking for land to purchase and making plans to building in 2003. In July 2004 the foundation was completed. Soon after, we started choosing colors of carpet, design of chairs, shapes for windows, and everything else that goes into building a church.
During all of the preparation we had three more officers that were set aside to become Deacons and they were Stanley Banks, Cedric Stepp and Rufus Jackson.
With a lot of personal donations from church members we were able to open the doors of Total Faith's new church building on September 4, 2005 and the three officers that were set aside in our old building were made Deacons, on June 10, 2007, in our new facilities. LaDone Godfrey was soon set aside and was ordained in 2009. Total Faith continues to grow and prosper in the name of Jesus.
